Europabevægelsen, the Danish European Movement, asked MEP Yana Toom what the most important things the European Union did this year were.
Yana answered with a short, 1 min video, as requested:
„I believe that the most important and historical thing for us was the activation of the Temporary Protection Directive. It was a ‘sleeping’ directive that lay somewhere on the table in the European Commission. In fact, we never activated it before Russian aggression against Ukraine. Now, when we have 18% of the Ukrainian population inside the European Union, we just had to do something. And we did.”
