MEP Yana Toom took part in the BBC programme “On the Border” dedicated to Narva, the only EU city to border the Russian Federation.
“I worked there for several years, I have a lot of friends in Narva, but still I sometimes feel that I am not one of them,” MEP Yana Toom said in the interview with Tim Marshall. “It’s a small city where everybody knows everybody. I mean, literally. And all these family ties are so deep and so old that the Narva people may remember some arguments between their great-grandmothers which took place in the year, say, 1952. This is very complicated.”
